Contrary to some rumors, Ralf Lao was initially crowned as MISTER NATIONAL UNIVERSE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES FRANCHISE last 2017 and not MISTER NATIONAL UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES which was awarded to Kenny Ong of Ilocos Sur this year (under the directorship of Ferdinand Abejon). MNU Organization has issued a statement days after the crowning of Lao during Gentlemen of the Philippines 2017 that the FRANCHISE for GCI has been void and null due to some issues. Though, technically, PHILIPPINES and REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES franchises differ. Whatever it is, we leave it there.
The thing that matters most here is his upcoming battle in Brazil. Mister Grand Philippines (Brazil Edition) was originally awarded to Manny of Tarlac during GotPH2017. Due to conflict of schedules, Manny chose to stay in Canada rather than competing for the Philippines.
Will Ralf successfully bring home the Mister Grand International crown? Let’s all pray for it.
